Article in "The News Tribune" by Dan Voepel on Sunday regarding a company that is along the Lakewood sub ( hope that's right ) in the Nalley Valley wanting to put in a new spur to save money on materials currently coming in by truck. Owner wants to move to rail.
[size=small]Owner of the company feels he is getting gouged by Sound Transit.

Any comments? I would think $500,000 for a rail spur sounds kind of high to me. But, I'm no railroad expert.
I would hope that there would be some grant monies available or something the City of Tacoma could do to help get this spur built when Sound Transit upgrades the track. After all, this would keep jobs in Tacoma and remove some trucks off the roads, vs another company closing due to pressure from Chinese companies undercutting local business.
