The Tamalpais is owned by a group of individuals, General Rail Corporation.

It has never been to the Yolo Shortline, aka Sierra Northern. However, it was used as part of a 4 car charter (consist Tamalpais, Plaza Santa Fe, Overland Trail and Burrard) operated by the YSL for a client behind the California Zephyr from EMY to SPR to EMY a number of years ago.
