Maybe it was action by Ventura County Transportation Commission staff and Caltrans staff that finally got this schedule change done? It had been under discussion well before it was made a cause dejour by RailPAC? I thank Paul Dyson for his perseverance on this issue. I think it helped keep attention focused on the bigger need for on-time performance and reliability. However, from now on, I'm going to take credit every time the sun comes up.
This change was a good change, and it took too long to get it done. But, this change is not an effective "policy" advocacy triumph, it is a minor service change, albeit a good one. I see the usual fringe elements of RailPAC continuing to misrepresent the positions of other effective rail and transit organizations. This doesn't contribute to the spirit of reconcilliation and cooperation that wiser heads in all of these organizations, including RailPAC are seeking.
