During the summer my parents, relatives and I would drive from San Francisco to a picnic spot they discovered along Lagunitas Creek between Lagunitas and Taylor State Park. Coming out of the HWY101 tunnel I'd always look down at Sausalito, hoping to see a train there. In the early 1950s a lot of the old WWII shipbuilding facilities were still there, although not very active. About 15 years ago I revisited the area, trying to find traces of the old branch. Nothing there but Yuppie businesses.
