Evil newfangled RR grade crossing safety technology?
I've looked at a system that would actualize grade crossing signals using RF to activate crossings, without any need for using track circuits, at all.
And, this kind of non track based grade crossing system, using RF, would also use the doppler effect to estimate varying approaching train speeds. This kind of system would allow a grade crossing to operate based upon the expected arrival time of the train at the crossing, lowering the gates fast for a fast approaching passenger train, but more slowly for a heavy ore train crawling up to the crossing.
But, of course, in the world of an ignorant ranting troll, any and all such newfangled grade crossing technology must be part of that vast conspiracy by that evil "gubmint" (of ours...), to line the pockets of those evil capitalist pig "contractor's", right?
