Of course not all of those trains are going to pass any one location.

And, some of the mines aren't even on the Orin line, which is the
main north-south trunk. Examples include the mines at Decker, Mont.,
accessed from Dutch, near Sheridan, Wyo.

From the north end of the Orin line, Donkey Creek, BNSF can send
trains in two directions.

From the south end, BNSF coal trains normally head toward Guernsey
and east towards Nebraska.

Coal trains normally do not head down the Front Range line,
though that might appear a likely route based on just looking at
a map. The Front Range line has lots of features which make it
unsuited for long heady coal trains.

So, trains going to Colorado would usually go by way of
Nebraska.
