I have tried to stay out of The Great NWP/NCRA/SMART Debate and leave the mud - slinging to those more qualified than I , but the whole "Nuclear Waste" argument is absurd. The latest issue of Trains Magazine has an article on the Yucca Mtn. RR, with photos of the rail casks used to haul the icky stuff to the site. Good grief, those things could withstand a Nuclear Explosion !!! Even all the hot air expelled by the parties involved in the debate, could not melt down those casks !!! If only the NIMBY's could see how little protection is accorded to the Hazardous Materials that travel up & down U.S. 101 & other area roads EVERYDAY...
