SD-45X was rated at 4,000 h.p. as well. I believe SP ended up with them and at some point rated them the same as the others. Extra cooling fan helped them in tunnels. Early dash-2 test bed. DD-40X had similar cards -- they took the best parts of the 40X and 45X to make the production system. The IDAC wheel slip system used cards as well when the 40 line was introduced. Remember EMD X lines are test beds, not production models.
