The Supernintendent's office was originally at Oakland pier. When that was torn down, c1960, it was moved to 1701 Wood. Crew dispatchers' locations also changed. The E dispatchers were at the WO roundhouse. When it was torn down, they were moved to 515 Bay St. Then, as an initial step towards computerized crew dispatching, they were moved to 1707 Wood, into a special windowless cubical-like addition to the building. The same type of thing happened with crew dispatching at SF. In 1969, switchmen and brakemen were upstairs in the depot at 3rd and Townsend, E was in the 7th Street diesel terminal. These all moved to the new yard office at BS yard c1973, although perhaps the commute stuff didn't (this was about the time I went to the Western).
