Here is how it plays out.
As kid completes his cartwheel, one foot lands in the flangeway in the crossing.
Boy’s body continues its fall with foot trapped in the flangeway, breaking ankle.
Mom distressed. Calls 911.
Trains are stopped.
Next day the gears in mom’s head start turning. She starts fuming with rage about how that “train track” broke her kid’s ankle.
Mom complains to railroad and tries to get money to pay son’s medical bills.
Etc...
