Spent many wonderful days chasing trains on the Modoc Line. I'm almost positive that this is an eastbound train approaching Madeline coming down off Sage Hen Summit. West of town it's all flat and no hills next to the tracks. Engines appear to be in dynamic and no smoke. It's a climb coming right out of Madeline heading towards the summit so you would expect to see lots of smoke coming out of those engines especially the GE. Madeline also had a really nice water tank that may still even be standing today as I think the town used it for their water. There was also a similar tank at Likely the town used for water.
