When they were clouting locations for the films they considered using the old CGW RofW that still existed at that time between Villa Park, IL and Byron, IL. When the CNW quoted the film's producers the costs of repairs to make it usable for the film, they declined and chose to film in Canada instead.

Too bad as it would have been a nice to have that all filmed for posterity.
