Yes, truck drivers are in short supply, but I can't answer to your union question. All I do know is that I assume all the UPS and J.B. Hunt trailers that go past my front porch on the BNSF would otherwise have been driven by guys earning more than I make, so assuming 200 trailers = 200 drivers at $12.50 an hour, there's a theoritical $2500 per road hour savings.
