1. Calaveras Cement. A company I don't know anything about.

A web search turns up a cement plant near San Andreas, CA, once served by an SP branch.

2. American Borate. Borax is one well-known borate that was found in Death Valley.

An internet search says American Borate had a mine there called "Billie Mine."
