On the east end of Union Pacific's Global One yard in Chicago there are several upscale condos one of which is directly above the holding signal where the UP has to wait before entering the BNSF main to go to Canal Street or towards Yard Center.
Needless to say this isn't always a popular spot late night. If you walk the ground there you'll find bottles, toasters, irons and other assorted junk that's been dropped on the waiting engines. Unfortunately the fact those tracks have been there 100+ years doesn't seem to cut the railroad any slack.
