Back in the early 1990's, when BNSF's Stampede Pass line was Out of Service -- But NOT ABANDONED -- through East Auburn & Covington, WA., many new housing developments came into being. Then in 1995 when BNSF rebuilt and re - opened the line, the residents were Shocked -- SHOCKED I SAY -- to find trains running on the line day & night !!! Several residents who testified as part of City of Auburn's lawsuit against the railroad had been told by realtors ( but NOT by the City or BNSF ) that : " ... those tracks aren't being used any more."
