As OP mentioned, curious that the trackside fixture has 4 lights. No idea what it’s for, but this got me thinking; why don’t railroads use conventional traffic light fixtures in place of track signals? I would think the traffic lights would be cheaper to buy and maintain than the specialty railroad lights, especially with modern LED technology.
