We need a new word/phrase to indicate the opposite of "railfan". Some word that describes people in the community that hope and pray (it seems), that NOTHING HAPPENS concerning historic preservation. Those that are convinced that NO RESTORATION will occur, that restorations in progress fail, that it rains everywhere an excursion is planned. Are there any positive thinking railfans left? From reading this forum, I would say very few, if any. Most people here want nothing more than Failure. Tells you something about them.
