Thanks Jeff for the tip.. wish i could afford the book.. must be a real pleasure to enjoy.. Did excursions use flat cars? Investigated Bodie in 1983? so all the more interesting to think about.. and as well read the account of B & B in the book American Narrow Gauge RR's.....still hard to imagine getting locomotives, cars ..rail.. hauled over "roads".. for construction perhaps the book details all of that.. = Incidentally, in 1940 my dad and I stayed at Stockman's for $2.50 as I recall..and in 41 on way to check on 5 traction lines of Utah.. stopped at Battle Mtn .The SP agent handed us a handful of public timetables from the 1880'sthat he found in the attic.. maybe there are some still up there?
