Big Thunder Mountain for transit?

Another round of the idea that transit would be better if Disney did it. Steve Lopez in the LATimes: [www.latimes.com]

It's not a new concept. A column in Road & Track many decades ago opined that people would be far more likely to ride a Space Shuttle from LAX to Pasadena than a (before Metro) bus (the last PE line was a recent memory at the time). But it's true: amusement park rides are mass transit: people drive hundreds or even thousands of miles to ride on trains. Like Big Thunder Mountain over Sepulveda, screaming past the Getty?
