Well, at the time SP commutes were using H24-66, I rode commuter trains behind Ae3/6", and the heavier ones behind Ae4/7.
But times have changed. Nowadays S-Bahn (that describes the situation much better than "commuter rail") requires at least 1/3 of all axles driven, with 1 MW installed per axle, and something in the range of 15 kW/t.
If my statement hurts your nostalgic feelings, I agree; it hurts mine too. But as said, times have changed.
