The Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum is sponsoring their second rail camp at the Carson City museum. The first camp, held last year, was a success and enjoyed by the participants. If you are looking for something to use your tax refund on consider this worthwhile fund raising option. This years camp will be held June 13-16 and will be an intensive hand-on event. By the end of the four days participants will have operated a 1926 Edwards motorcar, the only operating McKeen motorcar and V&T 4-6-0 number 25. Participants will also actively work at brakeman and conductor. There will be a behind the scenes tour of the museum. Breakfast and lunch is included each day and a banquet will be included on Saturday. If you think you might be interested please contact Adam Michalski, Curator of Education at the museum at 775-687-6953 ext. 224 or the Friends website at www.nsrm-friends.org. The camp is limited to ten participants in order to provide as much hands on time as possible. Six of the ten spots have been reserved at this time.
