OK, I admit I screwed up about the FA never being at Portola

Ken was a Vietnam war veteran and was a POW for several years.
Like most, he was severely treated, beaten, starved, put in
tiger cages, etc. He one said the only thing that kept him
going was his thoughts of the WP, which he later was able to
put into his paintings and artwork.

As noted, he was not the same physically or mentally when he
came back, and little wonder. He continued to paint, though
and was a valued museum member.
