With internet tools like Google personalized news, and RSS feeds, do we really need a Newsline like feature on this board? If I remember correctly the original intent of this board was to provide a place for discussion of Western railroad operations. Do we need links to an article in the Picayune Times about a grade crossing fatality in Mississippi? I would much rather read about ops on the Modoc Northern, or the appearance of unusual motive power etc. Posts about ongoing issues like SMART can always include a link to a media source if needed. The need for someone to take over the task of compiling a news digest feature just does not seem to exist anymore.
