Well said David.
I, among others that try to contribute useful dialogue to this website, along with your "human touch" website article research, makes altamontpress.com a real treat to visit.
It's not only a place specifically for railroad employees to interact, or railfan rivet-counters to arm-chair quarterback the railroads. It's both, including a lot of grey area to deal with.
I like it mostly because it lacks the "holier than thou" mentality that other forums seem to deal with. I for one, only persued a career shortly with a railroad. I deal with trucking operations on a daily basis, but nothing compares to my passion and love for railroads. It's nice to interact with railroad employees, railfans, and novuses that share that same passion.
The newsline is always interesting. Some articles deal with business operations, some are special interest pieces, some fall into factual issues like derailments and fringe issues. Again, like the posts, this feature always sucks me into something that I would have otherwise missed if in a different format. I have enjoyed this website for years now, and hope to continue doing so.
Variety is the spice of life. Without it, things are bland.
Thanks again David,
almo
