Old SP Heads: How Did SP's WP Shinn to San Francisco Transfer Work?

After the Las Plumas shut down, the WP set out cars at Shinn and the SP ran a train over there from Bayshore to pick up the cars and bring them to San Francisco. I was curious how that transfer job worked particularly in terms of how the cars would be interchanged back to the WP.

I've read notes here and there that there was an SP-WP transfer job on Illinois Street. I've also read that there was a SP-WP transfer on McKinnon St. off the 14th Avenue lead. I believe the 14th Avenue interchange point was the last interchange point, in the 80's, probably when the WP was down to just a couple customers and maybe not even bothering to use their 25th St. yard.

Anyone have some memories of working this job in the 80's?

Have seen pictures of the transfer job in Bayshore on an outbound track about to head to Shinn.
