UP LRQ-50 Mission Bay Update

As reported elsewhere, it appears that Union Pacific's LRQ-50 "Mission Bay" local has indeed moved its base of operations from South San Francisco to Warm Springs as of Monday 25-February. I was surprised to see it operating with six-axle power at Redwood City tonight, SD59MX #9900 and SD70M #4359, after coming up from the south. They will apparently have 90 cars headed back overnight.

Oddly, there are two sets of local power still sitting at South San Francisco; I don't if this is something neglected during the transition or why that would be, but the 532/696/1372 and the 1097/1485 were both sitting there earlier in the evening.

There is a certain irony to having the "Broadway" based out of South San Francisco and the "Mission Bay" coming up the peninsula from the south. Go back to the late Southern Pacific era, and the "Mission Bay" came out of South San Francisco, and the "Broadway" came out of Newhall (San Jose) up the peninsula.
