BNSF ( or maybe BN ??? ) tried using plastic ties inside Cascade Tunnel on Stevens Pass, I'd assume to combat the wet conditions inside the 7.78 mile long tunnel. I don't know if any are still in use, however last summer there were several lengths of used plastic tie " snap - track " sitting on the ground at Scenic, WA.
