Apparently, you seem to be willing to excuse the UP from their irresponsible actions as they would likely continue to act irresponsibly in the future in their dispatching if the public dosen't rise up like me and demand better performance but unfortunately is unlikely given the current situation on the UP railroad which is not looking UP.

In fact many passengers on that trip did not get what they paid for as many were left stranded in Portola that cold night due to that late arrival instead of being in a warm Hotel room in Reno that they paid for and had to suddenly make accomodations in Portola instead.

Just ask the CZ and the Starlight Passengers how they feel about the matter of riding on the UP and being constantly late and I am sure you will get the same response from.

The point is that there should continue to be Feather River Express excursions and the UP should dispatch their movements in a fair and timely manner to keep them on time and an FRE movement as well and if not hopefully there will hopefully be plenty of BNSF Frieght Trains on the line that will be "rockin and rollin'" to their destinations on time and not jam up the line and leave the Feather River Express siding riden.

No FRE excursions in the foreseeable future. That's pretty bad. Perhaps a Feather River/Highline excursion might work as a better option because it would be on BNSF's trackage a greater part of the way and get movin' like it should.
