Facebook Outage Raises Questions: Will Railfan Community Return to Websites?

Today's shocking Facebook outage has prompted many commentators to ask whether it was wise to put all the railfan eggs into a social media basket. When that basket gets knocked over, a whole of eggs disappear.
Will this more or less calamitous outage lead railfans to return to hardcore websites like Altamontpress.com or Trainorders.com or will the presence of negative posters like Synonymouse continue to drive down participation on this forum and others (which are visitede by similar unpleasant-type posters)?
If you think about it, Facebook doesn't even allow the posting of decently large photographs, the bread and butter of the railfan world. In fact, Facebook has started to impose even more constraints on visual content, shrinking their full-screen page size to a faux full-screen where the comments are arrayed on a 1/4 of the "full screen option".
Why are so many railfans supporting this sham of a web portal which is totally unsuited for a full hi-def railfan experience in 2019?
