In retrospect I should cited MTC perhaps instead of SPUR but in truth the latter has expanded its vision to the entire Bay Area and of course MTC is now domiciled in SF instead of the Eastbay.

The overweening item in the list is the Bechtel gauge entity, which dominates everything in the Bay Area. It will try to lay its corrupt hands on every shekel that is not nailed down. The Bay Area dominates the Party and the Legislature and will try to divert whatever monies come up to MTC, ergo the 800lb. gorilla. Obviously Zuckerberg is a savvy hardball player but if he does not place a veto proviso on his $1bil offer he just might get snookered and his goodwill money go to the evil empire.

Best approach is to dismantle the cabal and demand it be regauged. And then dismantle it by converting the outlyers to OCS RER-Stadtbahn, essentially electrified Caltrain.

In the sixties people were aware of the corrupt plot but afraid of Bechtel's power. One of my first questions to Charlie Smallwood ca. 1966 was what's up with BART broad gauge. He just leaned back in his chair and pulled up that signature cheshire cat grin and said "I understand the SP is quite pleased." I just laughed and realized there was nothing we could do about it.

I'm sure Charlie is looking down from Above and laughing at Crunican finally admitting it was a colossal piece of stupidity but it sure worked for SP. And it is still working for BART as they want to build ever more of that anomalous merde avec du poil dedans. And they will take Zucky's moolah, thank you.
