Digital collection of blocks/tiles making up a large model of SF as it was in 1940. Product of the WPA. Fascinating to see some areas I remember from the 1950s and 60s but way before the stuff I remember was built. SF was kind of rural in spots back in 1940 ... but lots of streetcars (streetcar and train tracks are in the model, too).

Don't expect precision/accuracy. It's to scale, but roughly - more of an artwork. Read up on the history of the model that's included with most blocks. And just enjoy!
