I doubt this conductor was confused. Not with forty years on the RR.

This is what he said to the best of my recollection.
Those tires did a lot of damage. I had to cut out the control valves on two cars. Thank God it wasn't consecutive cars...! [end]

So where is the control valve cutout located? On the valve itself? I ask because he accomplished this very quickly.
