The last time I rode the light rail up here in Portland it cost $2.50 to go all the way from PDX to Beaverton AND transfer to WES to get to my hometown of Tualatin. I would ride it more except just like San Jose they have slow running through downtown Portland. The station at the airport is located right outside baggage claim - you barely have to step outside. The ticket kiosks are inside the terminal so it's warm and dry while buying your ticket (an important thing up here). Trip time for me was about 1hr 20 min. When I rode it I got on shortly before departure then when I made the transfer to WES in Beaverton the conductor saw me coming and held the train. So it was just about the minimum travel time possible. You can normally drive it in about 30 min but the day I rode it was snowing with icy roads. Going by rail was faster that day.
