In the short term, we probably need a ferry from Corte Madera or the old San Quentin ferry terminal site to Richmond. Maybe a bunch of them, and let them carry cars. Long run, when the bridge is replaced (must be, and not too far in the future, due to sea level rise and the long, low-level section), it should include a rail line (compatible with SMART, not BART) or separate bus lanes between San Rafael and some station on BART, preferably fully grade-separated (Real Transit, Real BRT).
