Non-Rail (mostly): Richmond Bridge again

So more bits of concrete are dropping on passing cars, and another call for replacing the bridge.

In the short term, we probably need a ferry from Corte Madera or the old San Quentin ferry terminal site to Richmond. Maybe a bunch of them, and let them carry cars. As a backup plan for more bridge closures that will almost certainly occur as patches are applied to the old bridge. WETA is for emergencies, right? This has the potential to become one.

The legislator calling for a new bridge would almost certainly be unhappy with what Caltrans would likely propose: something that looks like the San Mateo and Dumbarton Bridges. So back to the Bay Bridge follies.

Long run, when the bridge is replaced (must be, and not too far in the future, due to sea level rise and the long, low-level section), it should include a rail line (compatible with SMART, not BART) or separate bus lanes between San Rafael and some station on BART, preferably fully grade-separated (Real Transit, Real BRT).
