Why do they need to assume anything about an "average" ten mile trip from farm to refinery. In real transportation economics, we would sample travel distances, from actual trucks delivering corn to the distillery, and not have to "assume" anything.
Because, when you "assume" things like this, without proving them, it can have a well known tendency to make an "a$$" out of you and me....
Unproven "assumptions" used in a study by what appears to be an "advocacy" group, don't prove anything at all... even if EPA used the same unproven "assumptions".
And, that "assumption' about transport being only about GHG's only being about 5 or 6% comes from what source?
I must be doing something right this morning, as I have so many with their knickers in a twist, some actually looking up things, to prove what they want to "believe", after my challenging these "assumptions" and questioning this very costly version of "green" economic policies. Which is actually probably kind of a good thing, when you think about it?
But, here's the real problem, if you can clean the air, with no such emissions, at 2 cents a gallon, why should we spend the extra 22 cents a gallon for corn based ethanol, at all?
