Thanks, you're excellent "paper" on the history of ethanol policy, definitely passes my "peer" review.

This is one of the best, most succinct, and most factual posts I've ever read or heard about "how we got here", and "why" we are really still being systematically ripped off, by the ethanol "mandate", by someone who actually "knows" what he is talking about.

It is now an archaic, costly, politically required wealth transfer, mandated by the "state", through the "law", to confiscate the money of millions of American consumers, and redistribute mostly to ethanol manufacturer's (very little ends up "propping up" corn prices for "family" farmers).

As you point out in your very good "history", ethanol does nothing at all for public health, nothing to save the planet, nor is it good economics. And, is at this point nd time, nothing but a publicly mandated "gift" to the few, confiscated by "gubmimt" decree from the many, in a bizarre modern form of a "reverse" "Robin Hood" kind of "corporate" state pseudo socialism (steal from the mass of now poorer consumers, to give to the "few" well off politically connected producers).

There are many folks out there claiming to do good things for all of us.... Folks who will tell us that they are here to save us from some kind of frightening danger (real or imagined).... Who, like all good con men, need for us "marks" to "believe" that the "snake oil" that they are selling us on, will somehow really benefit us, as they separate us from our hard earned money.
