Weatherproof pants, and make sure they can keep you warm!

Good tip if it snows: Put on a thin pair of dress socks. Next, slip each foot into a grocery bag (check for holes, you don't want any). Then, *one wool sock* over everything. Complete the ensemble with an old pair of shoes that have good treads. As said before, make sure you can change into extra clothes if you get wet.

this has always kept my feet happy. If your feet sweat more than others might, swap the type of socks, and have the wool against your skin.

I was in Boy Scouts for 16 years, and many a camping trip in the PNW (including overnighters in snow caves!)
