I believe most things in life are done for EGO or PROFIT. I don't know what one of these LOGGERHOGGER derives from these trips but I'll guess it strokes his ego.

While being inclusive is not always an option, being a divider does not do much good either. Creating an exclusive group of well-connected "friends" to participate in these photo runs and the "exclusive" photos they provide creates its own set of problems.

I'm positive that some of the participants do get great personal satisfaction out of supporting the operation and having their own exclusive photos. But as has been pointed out, LOGGERHOGGER and others go out and post photos almost to "brag" about how great they are personally as if railfaning is some kind of pissing match. Perhaps LOGGERHOGGER posts photos and sees it as just a way to "share" with all the commoners.

It is true that there are many fans that are rude and don't contribute financially to the events that they want to "experience". That's life, like it or not. Have some class and run a better operation or have better secrecy, and when all else fails be tactful and have some humility, but don't go out and make an ass out of yourself defending your elitist views and desires.

While I appreciate LOGGERHOGGER sharing history about various things, and he does seem to know a lot, and all he has done to help keep some equipment operating and away from the rust or torch I do question his motives.

His comments and tactics here on this tread have done nothing but diminish my respect or support of him.
