Never said I hated TO. I said the UP haters on TO have gone full bonkers about UP's version of PSR.

I'll tell what this is really about. The carriers will never be able to get rid of 2 man crews anytime soon and they know it. So they sweat the assets instead. The idea is not horrible just that PSR doesn't work well in mountain grade territory, but they insist on pounding the square peg into the round hole.

My understanding is UP delayed shutting down the hump at Hinkle by 30 days to do some kind of study. Maybe they found out if you reduce the circumference of that square peg it might actually fit in the round hole! Good for them.
