Re: Before it was a Bus route-busways are cheaper, for those who seem to worry more about price than value

Busways are "cheaper" to build. But maybe, not the best "value" for the dollars spent, in attracting actual users. And, of course, in the last LA County sales tax vote, that's not what the voters voted for, nor want in WSAB/UP corridor, if any of the recent public input is any indication....
Zev got what he wanted in the Valley, keeping then "evil" light rail off of the Chatsworth branch, and now the Valley "feels" it was "cheated" and wants rail, regardless of cost effectiveness.
Be careful what you ask for...you might just get it... and be stuck with it, and then be "disappointed"... Sort of like the chronic spoiled whiners in the San Fernando Valley, who originally opposed "evil" light rail, who now claim that they were "neglected" by MTA, when the rest of LA Counties taxpayers plunked down nearly $2 billion on the Orangeline "busway" instead, for such relatively lousy performance results.
Altamont is a train site, so except for the trolls, we mostly like trains, and that might represent a bias.....
