Seriously? Enough is enough already. The incessant whining of naysayers at the expense of the current steam crew is beginning to severely tarnish the reputation of the prior crew. A steam program is expensive and I guarantee if Ed Dickens was even a tenth as horrible as he is made out to be, he would have been walked out the door long ago at ANY business. At this point, given the successful operation of the 844 (even with some mistakes) and the restoration of the 4014, I think he's shown he's qualified. The more someone whines about him, his capabilities and how bad it is, even when one can easily see a successful program, the more it tarnishes reputations and paints themselves as poor losers. As the saying goes "By their fruit he shall know them" and unless you're already bitter, the fruits coming from Cheyenne are pretty sweet. I for one am excited for trains and welcome efforts to restore something historic. So at this point, continued whining and disparaging of Ed Dickens simply acts to leave one wondering "me thinks he doth protest too much."
