Amador Central?NWP status?

An old friend just inquired about the current operational status of both the Amador Foothills RR and also the NWP. He had recently driven by Ione & noticed that the rails were somewhat shiny...has there been some motorcar use lately?
He also asked about the NWP. Having just been to Schelville this last Tuesday & seeing the flangeways on the highway still filled with dirt, I doubt if anything, even a work extra has operated through here. There were earthmovers working on the railroad. A friend & I also noticed 3 or 4 newly fabricated culverts to be set in place. This should happen before too long.
