While some changes are afoot, some things still haven't changed much at the "runaway money train". This includes, some of those promoting, benefitting from, and even under contract and working for (with your taxpayer nickel???) the CAHSRA, who are working "overtime", lobbying the legislature, and Governor's Office to "stay the course" with this utter and complete fiasco.
Until this project is turned completely over to the San Joaquin JPB, and the CAHSRA is disbanded, these elements, will try to stay the course, under the guise of "work already under contract". This is how they are still justifying continuing the "work" on the now up to 30 billion dollar Pacheco Pass route fiasco, and the 7000 car "park and ride" to get people "out of their cars", proposed for Gilroy. Of course this is an utterly absurd, completely unaffordable alternative, that has that added advantage of offering zero congestion relief, or meeting any real transportation "needs" for access to the Bay Area.
So, while I hear a lot of whining, legitimate criticism, and anger directed at this disgusting waste of taxpayer dollars, by folks who are of the view that this is, and has been a complete fiasco, how many of you have actually contacted the Governor's Office, or any of your legislator's, to let them know that?
Because those who are on-board with this contractor "gravy train" at CAHSRA are definitely going to all of the legislative offices (and campaign fundraisers...) to make sure that their "view point" is represented.
In a democracy, if you want your voice heard, it helps if you actually speak up.
