Does Traveltown still have the same director? A management change can open doors.
It also makes me wonder how the Hawaiian Railway Society approached her. Most museums are open for discussion about returning an artifact to where it came from. Maybe the person who represented the HRS was a jerk. The wrong approach or a self-important jerk can ruin a deal real fast.
When I was Vice President of the Pacific Locomotive Assn I was able to meet with the top representatives of multiple other museums. At one meeting the self important director of one museum stated that his museum had no desire to assist the other museums at the meeting but he wanted to know what we would do for him. Needless to say we didn't do anything for him. The representatives of the other museum was very friendly and open to cooperation. It opened up a line of dialogue between our museums.
