I have no respect for Ed, nor does he deserve any. To be given respect, you have to respect others. Ed has clearly and publicly directly disrespected many, not only in the Steam locomotive "industry" but at Union Pacific as well as John Q. Public.

Yes, he is working very hard, as would be expected since that is his job. But be very clear, after the 844 "re-introduction" fiasco he was given very clear instructions to use contractors to help get 4014 ready in time. Let me say that again, he had to be TOLD to use contractors to help finish getting 4014 ready. That is the ONLY reason 4014 is running today.

However, if he would eat some humble pie and publicly state an apology to the previous steam crew for the clear public defamation he has done as well as state that he is NOT God's gift to steam locomotives (which he in so many words proclaims publicly and repeatedly) then he will begin to earn respect.
