Before you ask, yes, I filmed these myself. The third one was filmed just today, in fact.

The BJWRR work train is seldom-seen, none moreso than its locomotive, #4. Tom Waterfall built the #4 in 2005-06 in the style of a Davenport Locomotive Works switcher.

There are three videos of #4 on YouTube, all filmed by me. Being a volunteer at the railroad affords me many opportunities to see things the general public usually doesn't, such as test runs of the steam locomotives, work trains, and unusual moves.

First, we have the very, very first video of #4 in action from July 28, 2015. On this day, #4 was being used for yard switching, moving Car #4 back into storage after they took measurements for what eventually became Car #6 LIVE OAK. Also seen in the video is #2502 sitting outside to get a new battery.

The second video was shot on July 11, 2017 (Free Slurpee Day, I might add). It isn't very long since it was shot on my old phone, which didn't have enough space. #4 was used on this day to push #5 back into the enginehouse after pulling her forward so another volunteer could retrieve a part that had fallen into the inspection pit.

The third and final video was shot just today, May 14, 2019. Tomorrow, work will be done at the Redwood tree, whose roots have long been digging under the track. To that end, the work train was pulled out and taken to Ballast Crossing to load the hopper with ballast, using a rented Bobcat. This is the first video of #4 at speed, and doing a full crossing sequence.
