National Corridors Initiative newsletter

Without trying to take anything away from past and present
efforts to provide links to news items -- they are all
appreciated -- I would like to point out another good source
for news items for those not aware of it: The National
Corridor Initiative, Inc. (NCII) weekly online newsletter.

NCII is a passenger train advocacy group, but, while the
professionally prepared weekly Web newsletter -- usually
posted Sunday night (Eastern time) -- focuses on passenger
rail, it also includes some freight related stories. And,
each issue usually includes a listing of the past week's
stock closings of the stocks of major North American
Railroads -- with a comparison to the previous week.

Some issues are quite substantial -- though not so long
that you cannot go through the entire newsletter in one
session.

Particularly worthwhile is the coverage of European passenger
rail. Each issue usually includes at least one feature or
major news item from Europe.

The NCCI home page is at

http://www.nationalcorridors.org/

Scroll down slightly and look on the left side of the page for
links to the recent newsletters. You can also go back to
earlier issues.
