Maybe you're drawn to a certain type of woman (actually, I thought you were married). Just because that's your experience doesn't mean that all other men have the same experiences with women.
Over the years, I've met many women professionally and socially. Almost none of them I considered to be shallow.

What data do you have to support that claim? The information I've seen is that people are getting married later in life and middle to upper income people are more likely to get married than lower-income people. Reluctance/refusal to get married has more to do with economic issues than how men perceive women.
Anyway, making this relevant to a railroad discussion forum, I knew my partner was the right one when she said that she'd like to see the model railroad exhibit at a local museum during one of our first dates. Since that time, she has joined me on train excursions and long-distance Amtrak rides and bought me a railroad replica dinner plate for my birthday.
