"Rise above the level of childishness"? You must not have been on the TRAC board for very long. Richard and all the others make my old frat parties look like a meeting of the law review.

TRAC opposes Prop 1a because they think the route should be over the altamont pass and not directly through San Jose. But knowing these guys, I'm sure that if prop 1a called for the route to be through Altamont, then TRAC would oppose because they would then be supporting the San Jose route.

The fact is that TRAC opposed prop 1a becasue it is their nature to OPPOSE everything they can't control.
